Nadeshiko is the mother of Sakura and Touya and the wife of Fujitaka. Nadeshiko passed away when Sakura was 3 years old, and thus does not actively participate in CCS. However, she is prominent in the memories of many of the main characters and flashbacks of her past life are shown in CCS. Nadeshiko was a gentle and kind person and very pretty too. She was also somewhat clumsy and forgetful which prompted her cousin Sonomi to look after her and care for her. At sixteen she had fallen in love with Fujitaka and married him. Even though he was quite a bit older than her, they were a happy couple. Nadeshiko's family was very upset over her marriage to Fujitaka and Sonomi in particular resented Fujitaka taking Nadeshiko away from her. A picture of Nadeshiko can be found in nearly every room of the Kinomoto house, and Sakura greets one of them every morning as if Nadeshiko is still there with them.
